Personal:

I took 6th at state for wrestling at 112lbs in 2008.

I took 5th at state for wrestling at 125lbs in 2009.

3 Time Region Champion 2008-2010

 First started running for wrestling but soon found out that its a lot of fun running with the PVHS XC team.

I also have a twin sister named lacy and have an older sister named jenny and older brother named mike.

I Love riding road and mountain bikes and watch the Tour de France every stage every year.

I just started running XC at Dixie State College and I am loving it!!

The race was supposed to be a 5k but it was shorter for sure.  I'm thinking it was closer to 2.5.  I tied for 1st with my friends from the xc team.  We just ran it together.  It was easy until the last mile. Then we picked up the pace so no one would pass us.  It was way fun!

This was my first college race!  It went pretty good.  I started out a little fast but I felt pretty strong.  This was my first 8k.   It seemed way long compared to the normal 5k we ran in high school.  There was some pretty good hills there.  All in all I think it went well.  I was 2nd place on the team today.

There was only 2 teams at this race but it was still a lot of fun.  I felt like I ran hard and pushed it the whole way.  I started getting a little side ache but I got rid of it.  There was a pretty good hill we had to run up twice but I really liked that part.  All in all it was a good race for me.  I wore my garmin and it said the course was 4.82 instead of 5.

Today we did sun rise tire hills.  We ran there for a warm up and a cool down.  We did a total of 9 hills.  I felt really good and quick today.  I felt like I pushed all of them which was nice.  I have really started to like these hills for some reason.  The weather was awesome to run in because it was dark and cool with a light sprinkling of rain.  It was a great day for a run.

This race was way hard!  It seemed like it was hard on all of us.  It was at a golf course and it was freezing when we got there. Willy and I actually led the race for about 2 seconds.  It was awesome!  We payed for it later though.  The race consisted of 2 loops and on the first loop I thought I was going to die.  I felt like I couldn't even run fast at all.  It was like I was running in slow motion.  Then at the end of the first loop was a small down hill which helped me get my second wind in a way.  The last loop I pushed it hard. It still was tough but definitely better.   I think the altitude made it tough or something because my lungs hurt for the rest of the day.

It was our first run in Hawaii!!! It was so cool!  We ran right by the ocean in Waikiki.  We had such a fun run.  It was nice and easy with a lot of stops to look at everything.

We checked into turtle bay resort and then went and ran the course.  It was a little overcast with light rain.  It was good checking the course out and seeing what to expect.  It made me really nervous/excited to race!

This race was probably one of my favorite races of all time.  The course was on a golf course and went right by the ocean.  Running at sea level felt so great too.  I did exactly what I wanted to do and felt like I pushed it the whole time.  I was shooting for a 28:12 and thats what I did.  Dixie state took 7th out of 9 teams which is good for us. The course we ran on was really muddy and I stepped right into a puddle right in the beginning.  I avoided 2 but couldn't avoid the 3rd one.  My legs were covered in mud.  It was cool though.  I loved staying and racing in Hawaii! It was the best!  I was sad to leave.

First off the night before the race there was a blizzard outside.  We were all nervous because we didn't want to run in the snow.  The next day we woke up to freezing temperatures and snow everywhere.  Luckily where we were at wasn't windy.  The race was way organized and we even had to where chips on both ankles.  The start was interesting because I think everyone kind of slipped because of the snow.  The course was covered in snow and mud.  We were all covered in it by the end.  The race funneled into a small turnaround right in the beginning.  People were slipping and falling all of over the place.  It was crazy!  I decided that I would conserve my energy for the first 2 miles and then push it hard for the last 4.2.  The race ran twice around Lake Paden and so on the second trip around I caught my second wind and started really pushing it.  I felt really good for the last half.  I feel like I could have gone faster but it was a solid race.  At the finish the gave us space blankets to warm us up.  I was glad because I was pretty cold.  Dixie State ended up taking 18th. Not to bad for us.

 This year of cross country was amazing!  I felt good and strong for most of the season.  I'm going to be sad that I won't be able to run cross country for 2 years at least.  This was quite an experience being able to travel to California, Hawaii, and Washington.  I loved it this year and I hope I can continue to run.

You are the man. Racing in the snow does not sound fun although what a great experience to run on a college level. Good luck over the next two years.

This was a 5 man team for 50 miles.  My team only had 4 so I ended up running 3 legs.

Leg 1:  4.24 miles in 26:52 at 6:20 pace.

Leg 2:  5.76 miles in 34:15 at 5:57 pace.

Leg 3:  4.01 miles in 24:59 at 6:13 pace.

Total: 14.01 miles  

We ended up taking 1st with a time 5:11.  This was some of my friends from the xc team.  I have been a little sick so I was just glad I could run.
